INTERCESOR'S GUIDE:
PRAYER FOR HEALING
All around us are people with health challenges. As intercessors, God has sent us to deal with these issues. People present with various health issues – mental, organic and structural. This could be congenital, accidental, circumstantial, and behavioral in origin. Whatever the case, the divine intention is very clear – God wants us well.
This piece is to help us to lay hold of different promises of scripture thereby enhancing our intercessory effort.
A. By his stripes we were healed. (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24)
This is the reality we must enter in and also help others to enter via the road prayer. People must be made to see this as their own reality. Pray that people would experience the reality of that word of scriptures. Enforce in your intercession the establishment of that truth. Your role is to say God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:9-10). Just as nobody is sick in heaven, nobody in the sphere of your intercession must die, from any health issue or continue in ill heath, they must recover.
We were healed when Jesus was stripped down and severely flogged, his body mangled up and blood flowing frrely from his body. That was not for nothing, it was to release to us his innate divine capacity to cancel out sickness and diseases. The prayer of intercession connects that historical reality to the health issues at hand.
B. Touch not mine anointed, do my prophet no harm. (1 Chronicles 16:20-22, Psalms 105:13-15)
Sickness and diseases can be prohibited from touching God’s people, and if it has already happened reversed. We should pray with authority destroying the works of the devil manifesting as ill heath in the lives of God’s people (1 John 3:8). God is still in the business of doing miracles. Partner with him in your intercession. Hinge your demand on that verse of scriptures. Since the scriptures already informed us that all Christian carry an anointing (1 John 2:27) – a special blessing from God marking them out for special divine favour.
David said that God anoints his head with oil (Psalm 23:5). That’s what the Shepard does to protect the defenseless sheep from insect attack. Emphasise this in your intercessory work, since what you do as an intercessor is to enforce divine truth. It won’t just happen because it is in the scriptures; you need to execute that order of the divine judiciary as you pray (Psalm 149: 6-9).
C. Healing is children's bread.(Matthew 7:25-27, Philippians 1:19)
Prayer activates the healing possibility that is in Christ as you pray for healing on behalf of others. Healing is available to God’s children, provided for, not only by the stripes of Jesus and by the commandment saying touch not my anointed, healing is also our bread. Healing is bread means it is what God supplies.
People need you to pray, for them be set free to experience healing in Jesus’ name.
All the above waits for fulfillment for others, through you, as you take up praying for them. They may not know the above truth, but since you now do, be God’s spiritual enforcer on behalf of others as you pray for healing.
