MEN BEGAN TO CALL UPON GOD

Picture
And to Seth, to him also was born a son; and he call his name Enos; then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. (Gen.4:26) KJV.

Previously, God called upon men in the garden of Eden, but now, men needed to call upon God. Man’s need for God was what the devil seeks to make man forget, to overlook. This he temporarily achieved when he instigated Eve to seek independence from God by eating the forbidden fruit.

To call upon God is a simple definition of prayer. In calling upon God we seek his involvement in our day to day affairs. And by so doing we connect to the divine energy of God that makes things work out for us for good. The divine counsel of God is the ultimate there is. Go for it in the place of prayer and be among those priviledged to be helped by God on a daily basis.

The implication of this is far reaching. You get to be an overcomer indeed; surmounting all oppositions around you and within you. To call upon God is not a sign of weakness but of strength – the strength to know where to look to access unfailing help: the strength to be wise enough to rely on the everlasting hand of God. Call upon God today and always in the name of Jesus Christ his Son.
