THE HIGHER LEVEL - part three

Picture

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2(NKJV).
Let me tell you something else that would ensure that your prayers are from above, the place of God. When prayer is done like that the results are inevitably positive, unavoidably effective and consistently transformative. Apart from the fact that the mind must be assured of victory even before you pray, as discussed last week, the mind must also be set on the truth of God’s word.

Setting the mind on God’s word releases the life that is inside the word to transform your world, just as it happened at creation. When the mind is on the word, the mouth by extension proclaims it in the place of prayer, and power inevitably gets released.

God’s word reveals God’s mind to us and dictates the direction our faith should properly be focused on. We don’t just have faith in a vacuum, but our faith   is in God, and not just the God created by our imagination, but the God whose will, wisdom and ways are exposed to us by the Scriptures through the Holy Spirit.

Set your mind on God’s word and don’t presumptuously enter into the act of praying. This delivers you from praying fruitless, earthbound, and ineffective prayers that breeds more frustration rather than alleviate your burden. Marry God’s word and seek the Holy Spirit’s intervention and fellowship so that your mind is enlighten and your heart elevated so you can do much more in prayer.
