GREATNESS
The Lord is great in Zion. Psalms 99:2a
To become great, everyone needs to be help. We need to be helped to overcome the things planned along our life’s course to trip us up on the journey – the journey to greatness. One veritable avenue of greatness is prayers. Those you made for yourself and that others do on your behalf.
It has been my firm belief that nothing of God gets done on this earth apart from in response to prayer, that is, without some form of mediation. The actions of God are all hinged on covenants. And covenants need earthly channels (mediators) to bring them to light- from the covenant with Noah to the covenant with Christ.
For the covenant of Abraham, the partakers must be circumcised and for the Mosaic covenant the law must be kept. But for the covenant of Christ to be activated, one needs to confess Christ as the Lord to be born again.
Then, afterwards the Lordship of Jesus is further confirmed when we apply his name in the place of prayer.
When we do this, we position ourselves to receive help on the path to greatness. The covenant of Christ includes all the good things we could imagine. It not only holds a promise for greatness in this world but also in the world to come.
Further readings: 1Timothy 4:8, Hebrews 8:6 and Romans 10:4-9.
