SPENDING MORE TIME IN PRAYER: PLANNING
The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answers of the tongue belong to God Proverbs 16:1.
There is a level of discipline that is required to plan, another required to execute the plan. In spending more time in prayer, you have to set your mind to it. No excuse or opposition can stand in the way of your blazing hot determination to make prayer a major aspect of your life.
Just as you pray to plan you also need to plan to pray.
Planning to pray for an hour, you need to carve out the time. When to start and end, should be predetermined with the aid of clock. To fail to time yourself in prayer is to make your feeling the determinant in the place of prayer which would not help you in on the long run. You have to continue to pray till you meet your target time span, whatever it takes. The same goes for two hours, four hours and even for a whole night or a day and night.
If you did not meet your target today, tomorrow is another day. But don’t bite more than you can chew. Even so, seek to always stretch yourself; you will be surprised at how far you can go in the journey of praying for hours if you only plan it.
