THE PRESENCE OF GOD
You will show me the path of life; in your presence is fullness … Proverbs 16:11.
To seek God’s face - to seek his presence - is the loftiest duty of all Christian. To be devoted to praying draws God’s presence closer to us. God becomes more real to us more than anything we see or don’t see. God’s presence delivers God’s wisdom, counsel and power to us. To be clothed with his presence through a life dedicated to prayer is a good quality cloth on spiritually. The fellowship of the Holy Spirit is activated in each and every life in the place of seeking God’s face- in the place of prayer.
It’s not that God deliberately hides himself from the casual onlooker\seeker without reason. Man by the sin in the Garden of Eden made himself merely able to access a severely abridged version of the fullness of God. But in Christ Jesus we have the full version. He becomes our way to God spiritually. And this way is actively taken in prayer. Our Spiritual experience of that fullness commences with what is called the sinner’s prayer. Further experiences of God’s fullness, is activated in the place of prayer as we seek God’s face continually, where you are not just seeking from God, but seeking God. In that place, the very essence of God in distilled into us and we experience the newness of life. In that place we are preprogrammed to think like God, act like God and be like God. We are primed to effectively influence the world to the glory of God.
To make a difference, you need to be different, to be exceptional. You are only as exceptional as your level of exposure which in turn determines what you can offer the world. You cannot offer God to the world without being exposed to him. Because he can only be accessed spiritually, since he is a spirit, prayer is the spiritual technology designed to have us exposed to God’s presence so that we are changed and by extension become God’s own change agents. What a priviledge position this is! Therefore take full advantage of the avenue of prayer to be full in God’s presence and be full of God’s presence which brings life, love and lifting.
